Professional Hearing Tests and Personalized Evaluations:
Adults:   The audiometric evaluation consists of testing with both speech and pure tones. Testing with pure tones is done to determine the degree of hearing loss. Speech discrimination scores are obtained to estimate the loss of hearing pertaining to the clarity speech.

Pediatrics:   Depending on the age of the child, different play techniques are employed to determine the amount of hearing loss in each ear using pure tones and speech stimuli. For infants and young children, pure tone information specific to each ear may not be obtainable, but overall information is possible by way of sound field testing and/or otoacousitc emissions (OAE) testing.

Assistive Listening Devices for Telephones, Television, and Public Areas:  Sometimes devices other than hearing aids are needed to supplement the hearing ability of the person affected by hearing loss. These are inexpensive and quite effective.  Improve your ability to hear television with an assistive device you attach to your television to provide you with amplification and better clarity.  We also offer alarm clocks for the hearing impaired, amplified telephones, and FM systems.  For information, please call (615) 292-3563.

Special Ear Mold Products:  Custom earmold products are used for some situations that are not associated with hearing aids. Often, these are used by anesthesiologists, employees in industrial environments, children with swimmer's ear or pressure equalization (PE) tubes, hunters, and people with collapsed ear canals. Other applications include: musician ear plugs and custom in-ear monitors, communication molds and ear molds for the medical professional.
Tinnitus Counseling:  Ringing, roaring, swishing, water running, bells... do any of these sound familiar? Do you hear noises in one ear? Both ears? Constant? Intermittant? Whether it's constant or not, tinnitus is serious. Other causes for tinnitus are: sinus problems, fluid in ears, ear infection, wax in your ears, fatigue, noise exposure, stress, hearing loss. Please do not hesitate!
